Organizations and Sites with Career Resources for Scientists
- The American Association for the Advancement of Science, "Triple A-S" (AAAS), is the world's largest general scientific society and the publisher of SCIENCE. AAAS career support includes fellowships, internships, information on grants, jobs listings, a resume posting service, and more. Next Wave is their weekly online publication that covers scientific training, career development, and the science job market.
- American Chemical Society — The world’s largest scientific organization that has been promoting the chemical profession for over 125 years. ACS Careers is the ACS's comprehensive career Web site offering chemistry jobs and career development resources: data on degrees and employment in the chemical labor force; resources for more effective resume writing, interviewing, networking, and negotiating; chemical employment trends; and salary information.
- American Society of Microbiology — Web site offers great career pages and educational information including grade and high school specific links and literature.
- Beaker.com — Connecting life science employers and candidates.
- Bio-1 — This site focuses on the Route 1 corridor from Rutgers to Princeton, around which most of CNJ’s biotech firms are clustered. In addition to a career portal with job and internship information, the site offers other useful information and links related to that region.
- Bio Career Center — Articles on various career paths, a job board, and many other resources for job seakers.
- Bio-Link is a National Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Center for Biotechnology that originated in late 1998 with a grant from the National Science Foundation. The ATE program was created to improve and expand educational programs that prepare skilled technicians to work in the high-tech fields that drive the U.S. economy. The career pages list hundreds of biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies.

- PhDs.org — Basic reading for a successful career in science. Covers funding, networking, ethics, publishing, teaching, and more.
- SciMentorNet: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Office of Science Education in the Office of Science Policy has developed an online mentoring program for US high school and college students who are interested in behavioral and social science, biomedical science, dental, and healthcare careers. SciMentorNet is a secure Web site maintained by the NIH where students can receive support and guidance from mentors via an e-mail and internet connection. Students over the age of 16 will be matched with mentors in the behavioral, social, and biomedical sciences, as well as dental, healthcare and research fields. Would-be mentors (including undergraduate and graduate students, university professors, postdoctoral fellows, independent researchers, and healthcare personnel) are invited to register.

Links for Young People and Others Interested in Learning about Women in Science
- iWASwondering.org is a project of the National Academy of Sciences intended to showcase the accomplishments of contemporary women in science and to highlight for young people the varied and intriguing careers of some of today's most prominent scientists. The site draws from and accompanies the publication of a ten-volume series of biographies entitled Women's Adventures in Science, co-published by the Joseph Henry Press (an imprint of the National Academies Press) and Scholastic Library Publishing.

- The Greatest Women in Science History -- links to information on many famous women scientists over the centuries.
